icat, image cat, images in 256-color or 24-bit capable terminals HD

22.05.2014
icat [1] is an image-to-text converter for terminal that supports 256-color or 24-bit (true color). It has options (0:03) to change x and y of where to start printing the image, and `--keep` to original size, `-m` to choose color modes. And it can convert multiple files at once (0:18). Since it uses Imlib2, it reads common image formats with no problems. (via Alexandre Dantas) $$ + Note that icon is not the logo of icat, but from the Nuvola icon theme by David Vignoni. + Last video about such converter is Shellpic [2], two months ago. + There is also an vcat [3] for video. $$ * git-c66bd68225319398e45d8b70e4834fe0d39da88f (2013-02-21, post v0.4 (2013-01-15) * In C with Imlib2 * On Unix-like systems (Linux, Mac OS X with XQuartz, etc) * By Andreas Textor * Simplified BSD License (2-clause) [1]: https://github.com/atextor/icat [2]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DayfBOoEH3Y (Shellpic) [3]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dw8XwdydgFw (vcat)
