News Update: Second Containment Cap May Stop BP Plc Leak in Gulf of Mexico

Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen said Wednesday that once a second containment system is put in place, BP Plc (NYSE:BP) might be able to hold all of the oil leaking from the Gulf of Mexico sea-floor. The second containment cap will be fitted in the next two or three weeks. The current containment system was able to capture 15,000 barrels of oil yesterday. Shares of BP are trading down 2.23% Wednesday afternoon at $33.90.
