Fruition - Labor of Love (Remix by Lucas Dix of BCxLD ft Lukulele Slim) HD
Last Monday, while getting ready to come home from work, I saw that Fruition had posted the instrumental to their newest single, "Labor of Love". I downloaded it, went home, and wrote the song pretending I was Jay, Mimi, Kellen, T Tom, and Jeff. I imagined them being out on the road, missing family, playing for crickets and packed houses, and living out there labor of love. Then my homey Corey Finnagin and I went out on Saturday and shot some footage. He filmed and directed, and I threw the edit together really quickly tonight. Please bump it, download it, share it, and, most importantly, be sure to check out the new Fruition record that drops this week. Original: https://fruition.bandcamp.com/track/labor-of-love-single Download the song: https://soundcloud.com/…/fruition-labor-of-love-remix-by-lu… Lyrics: Saturday morn on a highway road Ain’t slept since sound check at Friday’s show See a pair of blue eyes when I shut mine close I swear I’d do anything to come right home But I can’t stop this, can’t slow the momentum Moths in the wallet, holes in the denim Ash in the lip of a crush up Coors can 12 hour drive in a fixed up tour van Have you ever said goodbye to the fam One last time through a face time cam? Played a little game of “I miss you more” Learned of a loss from a bedroom floor? But the job don’t halt and the prayers don’t pay much And the downs don’t stop on the way up And it will if it’s destined to be Keep hope, keep faith, keep every receipt Played a few gigs for east coast crickets Good for the ego, bad for the business West Coast runs gotta packed house rush Rock that stage, then I pass out drunk I wrote another song bout the love that I miss And how I’d do anything for one last kiss She said “stay here, don’t ever leave” Just my luck, wasn’t meant to be (shit) Have you ever been amazed by the sound Of a tune that you wrote that you sang to a crowd Been told that the prose of a sunken night Kept someone afloat, saved someone’s life” It’s all worth it, though it don’t pay me as much It’s a matter of time, it’s a labor of love A drop in the ocean, song from a siren Keep hope, Keep faith, Keep on driving
