Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct – December 2021 project update HD
It’s an exciting time for the community of south western Sydney! Following years of planning with staff and the community, main works are now underway on the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct. As one of the most significant health infrastructure projects in the state, the $790 million investment in the redevelopment of Liverpool Hospital will expand, enhance and optimise services, and significantly boost the local economy. There’s been a range of recent changes on site, with principal builder Lendlease having commenced demolition of existing buildings to prepare for construction of the first of our new integrated services buildings. Learn more about how the project is progressing from Liverpool Hospital General Manager Karen McMenamin, and hear from Lendlease Project Director Raz Favotto who shares how construction will support the local community through a dedicated hub offering a range of education, training, skilling and employment opportunities. The expansion of the hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) is set to be one of the first milestones delivered, transforming Liverpool Hospital’s ED into one of the largest in Australia. Listen to some of our key ED clinicians share how consultation with staff across the hospital has helped to design a service that will meet future demand and boast a range of features to support enhanced service provision in the expanded space.
