AGNONA presents "AWAIT" - The short film about Fall-Winter 2016 collection by Fashion Channel Milan, September 2016 – Mysterious, self-confident and because of that so sensual and fascinating: that’s the portrait of the protagonist of Await, the short film directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino, made to embody the Agnona Fall-Winter 2016 debut collection designed by Creative Director, Simon Holloway. The director takes inspiration from the episode “Il lavoro” by Luchino Visconti in the film Boccaccio 70. In a magnificent Milan villa – the Portaluppi apartment in the Casa degli Atellani – the scenes shoot the story of a fleeting meeting between a man and a woman teeming with desire and mystery. The female character is played by Malgosia Bela, who interprets a girl with pure and essential beauty, inspired by endless references to the theme of love in Italian literature. She’s always flawless even when she’s absent-mindedly wrapped in a towel after her bath; she’s so perfectly imperfect to mesmerise him – Roger Mazzeo – who can’t resist her charm. Await is the story of discreet Milanese glamour which, from the 1960s onwards, finds its expression in the stories told in cinema by Luchino Visconti as well as in the widespread creativity of fashion in those years. Agnona, founded in 1953, starts telling us the story of innovation and renewal reflected in social life through various forms of modernisation, thus writing a chapter of the great book of Italian fashion.
