Danakil Depression What appears to be the surface of an alien plant is actually the site of a crater from a volcanic explosion millions of years ago! The unearthly setting is caused from hot springs sulphur, salt, iron oxide and other minerals. If you came here it would almost look as if you’ve landed in a galaxy far far away.
