Steve Weingart & Renee Jones: Oasis

‘Oasis’ is a new album project by Steve Weingart & Renee Jones, released in January, 2018. “A modern day acoustic piano/vocal jazz duet with lush vocals & engaging solo piano performances.” ‘Oasis’ features original music from Steve & Renee as well as 3 cover songs. Inspired in part by Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley [Capitol, 1962], the album alternates vocal songs and solo piano performances. In the solo piano performances, Steve respectfully acknowledges influences of Debussy, Gershwin, Ravel, Stravinsky, and Zawinul. Renee’s unique vocal approach is inspired by a diverse and deep musical background ranging from classical music to funk (Earth Wind & Fire), rock (Chicago), pop (Roberta Flack) and jazz (Nancy Wilson).
