Death toll in central China gold mine accident rises to nine HD

The death toll from Friday’s gold mine accident in central China’s Henan Province climbed to nine, as one more body was found on Saturday afternoon. Thick smoke engulfed a pit at Qinling gold mine of China National Gold Group in Lingbao city at 10:36 a.m. on Friday, trapping 18 people. The bodies of seven victims were recovered by rescuers on Friday, while one other person died despite medical efforts.
