05.01.2011
On The Laura Ingraham Show, a gay Navy vet who served on the USS Enterprise under Captain Owen Honors defended his former superior against charges that videos he produced were sexist and homophobic. @0:18 - Eric says he and other gay members of the Enterprise crew did not take offense to the videos produced by Captain Owen Honors. @1:25 - "You never heard Captain Honors say or do anything that made you as a gay man uncomfortable on the ship?" "Absolutely not. Never once did I get the feeling from him that he was a bigot or any of the other names he is being called today." @2:08 - "When you saw Captain Honors, did he make you feel good? Did he make you feel good to be serving in our Navy?" "Oh absolutely. You take all week, living in an extremely stressful situation and for one night, Saturday night, you get to have a little fun, to sit down and laugh, to forget that you are in a war zone, and to actually feel like a human again, and this was the man that helped create that atmosphere." @3:22 - "All the gay people that I knew that were on there, never had taken offense with his videos, there should be no reason why it is being called anti-gay or homophobic."
