How To Prepare for a Pet Fox! HD

25.07.2018
Here are some tips to consider if you are thinking of getting a pet fox. This video discusses some introductory information to red, Arctic, and grey foxes, which are normally kept as indoor-outdoor or outdoor-only pets because of their size, activity level, and very smelly urine. Smaller foxes like the popular fennec foxes may be maintained as indoor pets if you have enough space. These are considered to be high-maintenance pets because they require a large and secure enclosure, are hard to handle in comparison with most domestic dogs, and skittish nature. Domestic foxes are NOT wild animals, however. They are just more similar to felines in their relationship with humans. Although they are in the canid family, they are not ‘wolf-like’. Note: The cage shown in this video is NOT the right size for a pet fox, it’s just an example of the double-door mentioned. Another note: Arctic foxes are the worst foxes to keep indoors, and many owners have reported that they can become aggressive if kept inside. There will be more info about this in an upcoming Arctic fox video! ~Education is Key~ Thanks to Loki the Fox’s owner for the video footage CC BY. RIP Loki. ----------- Welcome to MASpets! A channel dedicated to providing high quality information about exotic, alternative, and unique pets, as well as traditional ones. This channel supports the freedom of pet owners to care for the species of their choice as long as that animal has been shown to thrive in human care under the right conditions. We strongly believe that facts and education, not admonition, is the best policy for encouraging potential pet keepers to choose the best pet for their living situation. We believe there is no such thing as a ‘good pet’, and do not promote any particular species as pets, however we understand that the desire of some to own something different is essential to their expression and existence as an individual. Whether you are considering a pet, or are just interested in the subject, this channel invites you to become informed about the exciting world of animal diversity. There are hundreds of species of exotic pets! Some examples include: fennec fox, porcupine, serval, wallaby, boa constrictor, rainbow crab, bush baby, zebra, squirrels, ostrich, kinkajou, macaws, springhare, lemur, leopard gecko, tarantula, capybara, sloth, owl, cockatoo, muntjac deer, lion, short-tailed opossum, raccoon, scorpion, green iguana, and more.
