Swedish Armoured Divisions | Tribute | World War II | HD HD

28.08.2017
Tribute to the Swedish Armour Divisions, or Pansarförband during World War II. Tanks featured in this video in order: Stridsvagn m/37 - Swedish version of the Czech CKD AH-IV light tank which was very popular in Sweden in the mid 1930s. Stridsvagn L-60 - Swedish light tank developed by Landsverk in 1934. A state of the art tank with many modern features. Stridsvagn m/41 - Swedish version of the Czech LT-38. The Germans also emulated the LT-38 under the designation Panzerkampfwagen 38(t). Stridsvagn m/40 - Improved version of the L-60. Around 100 was ordered by the army and became the favored light tank in 1943. The first Swedish medium tank which became the workhorse of the Swedish army unfortunately not included in this video, but it had the designation Stridsvagn m/42 and over 200 was ordered by the army in 1943. Probably the most iconic Swedish tank during the war. Sweden also designed tank destroyers and artillery tanks which was more rare on the battlefield and thus hard to find real footage of them. But some worth mentioning are the Pansarvärnskanonvagn m/42 and the Stormartillerivagn m/43. Historians would argue the Stormartillerivagn being the Swedish Hetzer with an improved gun as the tank got the same chassis as the Stridsvagn m/41, or the LT-38. Footage taken from various vintage educational films from British war reports, and Swedish instructional films for educational purposes by Arméns Filmdetalj.
