Just a wonderful rendition of a great song! A little back story on this one....I actually saw the Chambers Brothers perform this song live in a little movie theater in New Paltz, NY back in DaDay. They came off the stage and sang it as they walked up the aisles by us and it was just crazy good and a very fond memory. Fast forward to April of 2017 at the memorial service for my dearly missed friend Joseph Saccocci which he himself devised, arranged and chose the artists and music for. It was a very emotional day and moment but I believe this was the last song played/performed at the service. Little did I know that it was one of his all time favorite songs as it is mine. What an other worldly feeling shot thru me when the realization hit that thru all the times, talks and music together, neither of us had ever spoken of this song though it had clearly spoken very loudly to each of us. Standing there on this Sunday evening in the very same spot that I first met Joseph and within a couple hundred feet of backstage where I last saw and spoke him knowing it would be the last time...just sent an absolutely warming chill ( an oxymoron if I ever experienced one ) thru my entire body. This one goes out to you, my dear friend....May you forever rest in peace as one of the few people strong enough to have been able to " Get Ready " and accept your transition with strength, wisdom and more dignity than one can imagine.........
