White and Yellow ...... What are they? HD

03.03.2012
White and yellow or W/Y are one of the newest genetics out there..... or are they? They were actually first founded back in 1996, when an unusually female was hatched out by Sergey and Raisa Prohorchik from Belarus. Fast forward to 2007 I saw this post... http://www.geckosunlimited.com/community/leopard-geckos-other-eublepharis/26924-super-eublepharis.html This was around of the time when the enigmas was the most exciting around. I wondered if the two were linked, and immediately wanted some of these different looking geckos. Not only to test against the enigmas but I saw a potential in them as stand alone mutation. In 2008 I sent my friends Henrick and Lotta from GekkoGalasken, a mack RAPTOR female, a Bell sunglow enigma female, a Nova Female and a Rainwater female. Lotta also breed their male W/Y to one of my G project females and a Rainwater Murphys Patternless Blizzard. With these females all bred we proved the male to be het for nothing, a truly valuable gecko. In 2009 I received males from all of the crosses and a few females. While all of them looked different then wild type or normal geckos, some did not prove out to be white and yellows. The ones that did I used to make all of my crosses and started other projects. To see more pictures of some of the white and yellows visit my Facebook page and check out the W/Y album. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.333791823322760.66179.123575404344404&type=1#!/media/set/?set=a.325428620825747.64662.123575404344404&type=3
