It is my prayer that this simple song may inspire you to begin asking Jesus to cover you in His armor each morning before you begin your day. Every morning that we wake up we are doing so in the middle of a hectic, raging battle field. We can not afford to step off our bed and onto the turf of that field while still dressed in nothing more than our plaid pajama suit. It is essential that we go into each day clothed from head to toe in the armor of God and wielding His weapons. Pray for Jesus to: protect your mind and thoughts (the helmet), protects your heart and emotions and feelings (the breastplate), help you believe only truth and not to listen to the lies that the enemy may whisper to you that day (the belt), have a strength of faith that will not fail under the attacks that are sure to be hurled at you that day (the shield), guide your every step and lead you in His plan for that day and make you a witness for Him, surrounding you with an atmosphere of peace wherever you go (the shoes), bring to mind that day the scriptures you will need in order to, not only defend against the attacks of the enemy, but also make attacks agains the kingdom of darkness through that mighty weapon which is the Word of God (the sword of the Spirit), and finally to arm you with the bow and the arrows that can shoot through any wall and hit their target at any distance with perfect accuracy, that great spiritual weapon of prayer. And now you are ready to not only survive by the mercy of God for another day on that battle field, but also to fight and make an effective attack on the kingdom of darkness, and be a mighty warrior and soldier of the cross, following the charge of your great commander Jesus Christ.
