Beatbox & Winds (Performance) | Nikos Diminakis | TEDxLamia HD
The concept of synergy is approached through three distinct but convergent parameters. The first one is related to the combination of Beatbox with airborne sound techniques. The second parameter refers to all the sounds that produced from the play of six different instruments (flute, mouthpiece harp, didgeridoo, double aulos, melodica, baritone saxophone). In conclusion, the third parameter has a structural substance and is related to the coexistence of original compositions and improvisational structures into the presentation. Nikos Diminakis is actively involved in music through scientific research, concert activity and teaching. He is a PhD candidate of the Department of Music Studies (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). His dissertation is related to the analysis of the work “Nine Etudes for Saxophones in Four Books” by composer Christian Lauba. He has presented and published his articles in international musicological conferences. He holds a degree of counterpoint and the first recognized saxophone diploma by the State Conservatoire of Thessaloniki. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
