The video also highlights the federal and state legislative advocacy efforts of PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association and features U.S. Congressman David Scott (D-GA-13) and Representative "Able" Mable Thomas (D-District 56). Representative Thomas presented PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association with a resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives designating September as PCOS Awareness Month. At the federal level, PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association worked with Congressman David Scott (D-GA-13) and 20 other leaders to introduce resolution H.Res.495 in the U.S. House of Representatives and S.Res.336 in the U.S. Senate. H.Res.495 and S.Res.336 recognize the seriousness of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), the need for further research, improved treatment and care options, and for a cure for PCOS. They also designate September as PCOS Awareness Month. This historic and bipartisan effort represents the first time there has been a central focus on PCOS in the U.S. Congress The PCOS Awareness Symposium, presented by PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association, is the largest event globally dedicated to polycystic ovary syndrome. The symposium brings together clinicians, researchers, hundreds of women with PCOS and their supporters for a day of sharing experiences, insights and the latest updates about the condition.
