Detailed up-do-date specifications shown side by side. #PocoM3 #XiaomiPocoM3 #Redmi9 Xiaomi’s Poco sub-brand has launched its latest entry-level phone, the Poco M3. As with most other Poco phones, the M3 has an strong spec sheet for its comparatively low price. The Poco M3 comes with a 6.53-inch FHD+ (2,340 x 1,080 pixels) Dot Drop Display and 19:5:9 aspect ratio for optimal edge-to-edge viewing experience. The display is also TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified, which helps to minimise eye strain for consumers as they consume multimedia content on the Poco M3. The Gorilla Glass 3 helps to protect against drops and scratches while the anti-fingerprint textured back cover offers a more secure grip. The display is pretty basic: the chin at the bottom is quite big, the fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button on the side rather than the screen, and the panel is only 60Hz, but it’s sharp enough and perfectly serviceable. The phone’s design certainly stands out from behind, with a large glossy camera bump emblazoned with a bright white “POCO” logo. The main camera is 48 megapixels, but the other two cameras are just 2-megapixel sensors for depth and macro, so this isn’t really a meaningful triple-camera setup. While the phone’s chassis is constructed out of plastic, it uses a leather-ish finish that feels much nicer to the touch than most other plastic phones. It’s available in black, yellow, and blue. It has the largest battery capacity in its class at 6,000mAh, which is stated to last more than 5 days under light usage, about three days under moderate usage, and an estimated 1.5 days under heavy usage. In addition, the battery can withstand high temperatures and nearly 2.5 years of usage without significant degradation. The 22.5W in-box charger can deliver consistent 18W fast charging for the Poco M3. Other specs include MIUI 12 based on Android 10, Qualcomm Snapdragon 662, 4GB RAM, a rear triple-camera setup (48MP f/1.79 main lens + 2MP f/2.4 macro lens + 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor), an 8MP front-facing camera, dual SIM slots + 1 microSD card slot, Bluetooth 5.0, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, AI Face Unlock, dual speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Poco M3 will be available locally in two variants: 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB. They can be purchased exclusively on Xiaomi Official Store Global on Lazada from 27 November at S$199 and S$219 respectively. The Cool Blue and Power Black models are available at launch, but the Yellow model will be available at a later date.
