LIRR: MP15AC 166 Rescues DE30AC 415 w/ 4 car set to Babylon at Staples Street Farmingdale HD

04.04.2022
Long Description Alert! Another day, another engine shitting out on the Long Island rail Road. Today, DE30AC 415 was on shuttle train duty running between Hicksville and Babylon. The engine had a meltdown in Hicksville, and was moved over to the Atlantic pipe siding west of the station. This leads me to believe it was probably the cab car that failed, considering the engine wouldn’t be able to get it over there if it crapped out. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) 166 went up to Central branch to go rescue it, but I didn’t catch that in time and it passed as I was going down Main Street on my bike. A few minutes later, after a roustabout to Babylon with DE30AC 416, the rescue move came through at restricted speed, which was following very close behind the roustabout which kept having equipment problems too, stopping and going and stopping again just west of the route 110 bridge. Funny thing is, one of the drivers in the car is yelled out the window “is it coming or what?!“ and I yelled back “YEAH!“ I didn’t include it in this video, because there was a 46 second delay between that and the move passing so I just included where 166 started honking. Great P5A, first time hearing it. With all of this said, enjoy.
