The Jersey Shore, known for its beaches and the boardwalks, is attracting everyone for the summer months once again. However, this summer brings our visitors something different. Also known for its historical music scene, the shore is encouraging locals and people across the world to be seen. By registering for the Jersey Shore Karaoke Idol competition, whether you can sing or not, you are participating in making history because the competition is in the running to break a new Guinness World Record for the largest karaoke contest. Oh, and the $10,000 grand prize isn’t too shabby either! As the shore continues to pick up the pieces from Super storm Sandy, the competition is the perfect way to bring the people back either in person or in spirit. You don’t have to live at the Jersey Shore, or even in New Jersey for that matter, to participate in this competition; that’s what really sets it apart from the rest of the local singing competitions. To have what could be one of the largest karaoke contests, and to even break a world record, right here in my own backyard is a pretty cool experience.
