This is my fourth video on agricultural technology : What to do in order to raise very good Aman rice crop by using healthy seedlings of rice. Explained in Bengali language. Timely planting, maintenance of proper spacing and depth in the presence of very less water on the surface of the plot soil are the main key factors for harvesting bumper rice crop in aman season. Sufficient number of hills per square meters around 200, just to deep the roots in soil, adequate number of seedlings in a hill are the must. Emphasis has also been given on how to raise rice nursery in the salinity affected coastal belt areas of the State. Around 2-3 saplings in case of normal condition and 4-5 in case of late transplanting as well as saline soils should be planted in 2-3 cm depth. Avoiding deep and heavy muddy puddling is also essential to grow very nice crop as it facilitates shallow planting of seedlings and proper use of nursery leaves of seedlings. At 15-20 days after sowing, spray Pyrazosulfuran ethyl 10 EC @ 0.25 g per litre of water 30 litres for 10 decimal area or Bispyribac sodium @ 0.5g/l by moistening the seedlings properly. For protection of seedlings from algal aquatic weeds, applying copper sulfate @ 400g for 10 decimal area of nursery. The video is exclusively based on experience and knowledge of the speaker.
