Beautiful village southern coast in Belize. After the LIVE Musical street and beach parties that went on throughout the night until morning. Punta Drumming continued as crowds gathered on the river at Y-Not Island to welcome the coming of the boats. Ladies noticeably appeared wearing traditional dresses and head wraps formed chanting lines following drummers. All in its original sequence, the boats enter the water way after going out before sunrise to do rituals. Carrying plants, herbs and spices that their ancestors brought over when they first came to settle in Belize from St. Vincent, Garifuna massive hold on to their culture. Taking it back to the streets, we all paraded our way to the cathedral where the chants and drumming were amplified by the walls and tall ceiling. Commemorative energy filled the room as people settled into the pews. Praises and worship
