Some settings may be specific to the Gigabyte GA-X99P-SLI motherboard (used in this build), but not exclusive and can be used with other manufacture’s such as ASUS, Intel, MSI, etc. Please note that it is key to take notes or make backups of your BIOS settings as you set up of your Hackintosh. Note: If you simply ‘Load Optimized Defaults,’ many of the setting will already be done for you, however there are a few settings you will have to change manually. If you are using components from this build or at least very similar then the following BIOS settings should work without any issues. Some key setting to remember: 1. Load Optimized Defaults. 2. Set ‘Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P)’ to ‘Profile 1’ 3. Set ‘PCIe Slot Configuration’ to ‘Auto’ 4. Set ‘Boot Option #1’ to your OS X drive 5. Set ‘Windows 8 Features’ to ‘Other OS’ Very important! 6. Set ‘Storage Boot Option Control’ to ‘Legacy Only’ 7. Set ‘Other PCI Device ROM Priority’ to ‘UEFI Only’ 8. Set ‘Initial Display Output’ to ‘PCIe 1 Slot’ 9. Set ‘Legacy USB Support’ to ‘Enabled’ 10. Set ‘XHCI & EHCI Hand-off’ to ‘Enabled’ 11. Set ‘XHCI Mode’ to ‘ Smart Auto’ 12. Set ‘Audio Controller’ to ‘Auto’ 13. Set ‘PCH Internal LAN’ to ‘Enabled’ 14. Set ‘Intel VT for Directed I/O (Vt-d)’ to ‘Disabled’ Very Important! 15. Set ‘Execute Disable Bit’ to ‘Enabled’ Very Important! 16. Set ‘Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x)’ to ‘Enabled’ 17. Set ‘sSATA & SATA Controller’ to ‘Enabled’ 18. Set ‘Configure sSATA & SATA as’ to ‘AHCI’ Additional BIOS settings that may be a requirement of your motherboard, but not available on the Gigabyte GA-X99P-SLI. 1. Disable CFG-Lock. 2. Disable secure boot mode. 3. Disable IO Serial Port. 4. Disable USB 3.0 if you have a 6 series or x58 motherboard with AWARD BIOS.
