His owners reluctantly gave him up, knowing they could not pay for his costly medical expenses and rehabilitation. Pug Nation LA took him and assumed all the costs. Not only did Pepe learn to walk again, he learned to run with the help of a wheelchair. It was at Pug Nation that he found his forever home in Megan, a staff member.
