Uptown Funk with Funky Brass By Yamaha DX7 Synthesizer HD

25.11.2016
The Yamaha DX7 Synthesizer does Uptown Funk with great funky brass sound. Overcoming traditionally weak spots for the DX7, I created a great DX7 brass patch that emulates the soul brass sound. This DX7 demo video is a short cover of the song Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. Excluding drums, all DX7 patches are created and fine-tuned by myself, using my DX7 front panel only (no patch editor used). Video Contents Uptown funk (short arrangement) Soul Brass – On the Internet and the factory patches, DX7 brass patches are underwhelming and lacks realism, as they don’t pack a powerful punch at Attack. For the DX7, brass sounds are traditionally a weak spot with the DX7 FM synthesis. So I decided to spend many hours creating and fine tuning DX7 brass patches with powerful Attack. This DX7 brass patch uses only 6 operators, and of course, no sampled waveforms!!!!! It is very a capable and versatile FM synthesizer which has a very powerful frequency modulation synthesis engine. About Power DX7 I have owned my Yamaha DX7 Mk I since 1986 and making my own original DX7 patches ever since. My focus is to push the DX7 (and other FM synthesizers including TX7, DX7s, DX7II, TX802) to its limits to create many original DX7 patches with breathtaking sonic quality, realism and expression, from warm analog synthesizer sounds to uniquely DX7 piano, brass, string voice, etc. My very best original DX7 patches can transform the DX7 as well as Yamaha DX7s, DX7 II and TX802 into a powerful synthesizer in its own right. Also, a Yamaha DX7 plugin (such as FM7, FM8 and Dexed) as well as Korg Volca FM and Yamaha Montage Synth can be transformed into a great FM synthesizer, faithfully re-creating DX7 patches.
