1972 PEWTER SILVER CORVETTE LS5 COUPE Very sharp, high option big block Coupe. Pewter Silver w/Black interior, LS5 454/270hp, automatic transmission. The third-generation Corvette went through many revisions over its 14 years of production. Some cosmetic and some mechanical. But one of the most significant was the change to the federally mandated 5mph bumpers. Of all the car designs that had to incorporate these bumpers, it’s widely agreed that only Corvette managed to make the transition seamless and beautiful. But from ’68-’72 chrome was king! At least as far as bumpers were concerned. And the last of anything is usually somewhat important. So, in this case, the ’72 Corvette was the last of the chrome bumper Sharks! We acquired this very sharp Shark from a woman in Malibu who had purchased the car as a surprise birthday gift for her late husband. And although the car had gone through a frame-on restoration a number of years before, when we got the car in, it had been sitting for a couple years, so an extensive once-over and refurbishment was in order. And that’s what was done. The car features an LS5 big block mated to a Turbo 400 3-spd. automatic transmission. Other options include, air conditioning (not currently working), power brakes, power steering, custom interior trim, am/fm radio, and brand new BFG Radial T/A’s. The exterior color of Pewter Silver was only available in ’72 and it’s quite striking! The car presents itself as an excellent-looking Shark that runs and drives quite well.
