17.05.2018
On May 14th, 2018 around 2:10pm, Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire near the intersection of Carson Street & Dolores Street in the City of Carson. Units arrived at 21615 Dolores Street where the caller reported the fire and there they found a fully involved detached garage. Firefighters began laying hose and starting fire attack as soon as they pulled up to the scene. Primary search was negative once they had a knockdown. LA County Fire Investigators were later dispatched to find the cause of the fire. Units due: Battalion 14, Battalion 18, Engine 10, Engine 105, Engine 116, Engine 236, Engine 95, Foam 127, Quint 127, Quint 116, & Squad 36. Additional info: Squad 36, Engine 36, Engine 236, Engine 10, Engine 105, & Foam 127 (getting decals soon) were all at Station 36 and that’s why i caught them all. My story: I was on my way home from school and was coming up to Carson & Dolores intersection, and i saw heavy black smoke coming from behind a business. I honestly thought it was a car fire that was in the alley, but it turned out to be a working structure fire. I got out of the car and ran down the alley to make sure all the residents were out of the house safely and okay. 911 was being called while i was running down the alley and i couldn’t see a single thing, it was like running in heavy fog. While in the process to make sure everyone was okay, i was burned on both of my arms from pieces of the structure that popped on me. The burns aren’t that bad thankfully oh my! I just needed to render assistance before i started filming, because that is the absolute right thing to do, ALWAYS! My dream job is to be a firefighter, and this incident definitely sparked that part of me into action. I got lucky though when it came to the response footage for sure! Carson, CA- May 14th, 2018
