Russia to develop new PAK DA bomber HD

Russian Air Force will launch the development of a new bomber PAK DA in 2014 The Russian abbreviation stands for prospective airborne complex for long-range aircraft. The new aircraft is to be tested in 2019. In 2025, the new bombers will be put into service. Russian Air Force officials said that the PAK DA would be a plane of another class that would be differrent from Tupolev-160, Tupolev-95MC and Tupolev-22M3. Nothing has been said about specifications of the new bomber. The new aircraft will be designed at the Tupolev Design Bureau. It was previously reported that the PAK DA would be armed with new hypersonic equipment. For the time being, it has only been said that the new aircraft would not be a profound modernization of the Tu-160.
