Schizophrenia - Short Film HD

Grade 10 FTVNM Suspense Film by Ani Parry, Natasha Pravidur and Erin Vohland 2018 ‘Schizophrenia’ is a short film that follows the story of a teenage girl battling a mental illness without the use of much needed prescription medication. The film is a dramatized psychological thriller that explores the range of emotions and everyday challenges of a teenage girl suffering from schizophrenia. The purpose of the film is to highlight the issues associated with the illness through a dramatized and suspenseful lens, as well as open the eyes of a mature audience of the invisible suffering of those affected by mental health. In this case, un-managed schizophrenia is troubling the life of teenager Avery Marsh who experiences hallucinations of a demonic being dressed in all black. The portrayal of her schizophrenic episodes is shown through the technical features of both still and rapid camera movements, dark and cold colour grading and suspenseful soundtracks and voice overs, accomplishing the unsettling feel of this psychological horror.
