Warsaw Pact - Main Reason Behind Russia’s Invasion In Ukraine | ISH News HD
Russia was the first country to start the war against Ukraine, and this caused an uproar in the other nations of the world. Everyone felt that this war was unjust and should be stopped. Everyone was saying that it is Russia’s fault for starting the war, but wait… have you heard of Russia’s side of the story? In our previous news, we have explained the points from NATO perspective. Now, I am sharing the history from Russia’s point of view that led to the war. Having heard both stories, you can then make a correct judgment of who is at fault and you can share the comments. It all started in the late 1940s soon after the Second World War. During the Cold War between the Soviet Union, Russia, Other Countries surrounding it & America. The Cold War was the war that started soon after the termination of the second world war. It is referred to as the cold war because none of the soviet union nor the United States officially declared a war on each other but they were very aggressive with each other. In the year 1949, when Russia tested its first Nuclear Missile. America felt very threatened. It resulted in the formation of NATO. NATO was set up with an objective that if any country which is a part of NATO is attacked, all the countries which are its ally will consider it as an attack on them and will have the power to retaliate together. Later in the year 1955 as a response to the formation of NATO, the was set up as a counter alliance against “NATO” with similar objectives to that of NATO. Which stated that if any country that is a part of the Warsaw pact is attacked, it will be considered as an attack made on every country which is a part of this pact and will retaliate together. The Warsaw Treaty Organization (WTO), was a defence agreement signed in Warsaw, Poland, between the Soviet Union and seven other Eastern & Central European countries in May 1955, during the Cold War. So NATO consists of countries on the western side of the world while Warsaw is on the eastern side. But later when the Soviet Union broke up in 1991, NATO promised Russia that if it terminates the Warsaw Pact, then NATO will not include countries that were previously a part of the Soviet Union or the ones which in any way can affect the safety of Russia. Russia ended this pact after the breakdown of the Soviet Union in 1991 in the hope that NATO would also fulfill its promise, but NATO did not fulfill its promise. Rather, it included countries likeEstonia, Latvia, Poland and Romania as a member of NATO. These countries were once part of the Soviet Union under the Warsaw Pact. NATO further kept on extending towards Russia which constantly violated the agreement made between Russia & NATO back in 1991. Russia kept on expressing their serious disapproval over the agreement which was getting breached by NATO and warned former US Presidents George W Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump. But the limits were reached when NATO officially termed four countries as the aspiring candidates
