I then do a toy review of each. What is a gashapon? “Gashapon” is a Japanese word (ガシャポン) that refers to the capsule toy vending machines that you see everywhere in Japan. When you find a machine that you like, you insert the correct amount of money into the machine, turn the wheel, and out will come a single, brightly colored, capsule. The sound that the machine makes sounds like GASH-A-PON, which is where the name comes from (onomatopoeia! anime english!). The toy inside the capsule depends on the machine.
