It plugs into the lighting adapter and will act as supplemental storage for movies and other large files that would otherwise take up room on the iPad or iPhone. Users access the content through an app that will play media and allow for viewing of files. Sandisk says their app works with iOS extensions so files can be opened and edited in other apps. The device also connects to PCs and Macs via USB for easy file transfers. The only downside I see with this device is that it has a battery that powers it. So it will need to be charged in order to be used.
