Alberta commemorative ceremony for Queen Elizabeth II – September 19, 2022

A provincial commemorative ceremony is held on the grounds of the Alberta legislature in Edmonton to honour the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen died on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96, ending a 70-year reign as the Canadian head of state. The ceremony in Edmonton is taking place on the same day as the state funeral for the Queen in London and Canada’s national commemorative ceremony in Ottawa.
