Sea Power in the Pacific: Some video footage of World War 2 in the Pacific Ocean of the struggle between the United States and the empire of Japan. The Japanese Navy was quite a formidable force in WW II. World War two was the time when the USA was to become a world power. This is the pacific theatre video footage. America was a different world then and things have certainly changed since then. The aircraft carrier was to replace the old dominant battleship as the ultimate weapon of war of the navies of the world. The Japanese Zero airplane was one of the best pure fighters at the beginning of WW II. Soon the US had some of the best planes ever built in that time period. We had the Hellcat, the P-38, Corsair fighters that totally outclassed the Japanese Zero towards the end of the war. I do not glorify war - I just honor this for the historical significance. Many died in this war.
