Kites Flying High in the Sky HD
Soaring high and taking over the sky, the 11th Annual Frontier Kite Fly Festival took place today at Frontier Park. Presented by the Naperville Mom’s Network and Naperville Park District, the festival brought out families to enjoy games, music, and of course, flying kites. “Well we thought it would be interesting and cool and it was. And I guess we have fun, but the wind just comes and goes so you can’t even get enough air,” said Jaden Louie, a participant in the festival. “We like flying kites, kites are fun, and we like watching the big kites like that one over there,” said participant Anna Demirgian. “I like the octopus kite,” added Ava Abner, another participant in the festival. Kites big and small took to the wind as many novice flyers tried out their kites for the first time… “Because I like to run with them,” said Finnegan, a four year-old participant. While some experienced kite flyers showed off their fun hobby… “Kites are a great hobby because you meet a great group of people who don’t take themselves all that seriously. Adults whose main hobby is flying kites obviously don’t take themselves too seriously so it’s a great group of people,” said Alan Sparling, whose been flying big show kites for 19 years. Kicking off summer with kites and family fun. Naperville News 17’s Christine Lena reports.
