The company`s products can be found on all five continents of the world. The company Fontana R is based in central Europe in the Czech Republic, which is part of the European Union. The Czech Republic, with Prague as its capital, is advanced country from the technology point of view with a rich cultural and industrial tradition. The company is based in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic. Brno is an important central European centre for universities, sciences, engineering and international trade. Fontana R was established in the 1990s without any subsidies on the basis of „our word is also a contract“. The company`s management and non-manufacturing part is situated right in the centre of Brno on Přikop Street in the administrative and commercial centre IBC. This is home to the design and development centre where 10 experienced specialists work. Staff numbers stand at about 20 when taken together with those responsible for sales, offers and administration. There are approxximately 50 people working in the manufacturing section in Říčany u Brna, most of whom work in various fields of manufacturing, while some work in servicing and also in installing new equipment. Over the past 25 years, the company has had high enough technical production capabilities to be able to compete on a par with top players on the market. Currently Fontana produces and delivers over 350 products yearly of various sizes and with varying designs. Fontana`s products are divided into 6 basic categories: Mechanical pre-cleaning, Separating and washing of the grit, Pressing and washing of the screenings, Regulating and measuring of water passage, Transporting and cleaning of the sludge, Terciary retreatment. Fontana has a number of important domestic and foreign customers. They are mostly water management companies throughout the Czech Republic, who provide equipment for local water treatment. 50% of products stay on the Czech market with the remaining 50% for export abroad. With the expansion of the European Union eastwards, there has been an increase in the number of orders, since the new member states have had to provide for water treatment plants in communities with more than 2000 inhabitants. Another much-appreciated feature is that it is extremely reliable even in extreme conditions auch as in subtropical and tropical climes, or on the contrary in a very cold climate. What`s important is its simple and user-friendly maintenance and that it`s extremely simple to operate. These products and a number of others are largely responsible for the ever-increasing exports. The ever-increasing share of exports is a very important phenomenom as it draws on the considerable tradition of Czech engineering , which always had an excellent position.
