Euless Trinity Tops Arlington Martin 56 to 34 HD

Trinity vs Martin Script for FOX SPORTS SW The Euless Trinity Trojans hosting the Arlington Martin Warriors at Pennington Field in a huge first round matchup. The Warriors in the road whites against the mystique that is the Trinity Trojans. The HAKA was loud proud and really pumped up the crowd as the fireworks were just beginning. It was the battle of the number threes early on. Martin opened the scoring as Willie Roberts takes the ball and cuts to the outside, look out he’s got a block and he’s gone 63 yards. TOUCHDOWN 7-0 Martin leading Trinity. The Trojans would go to their big back Brandon Theus who really stretches out that number three using power and a burst of speed to score a 39 yard touchdown 7-7 after one quarter. Back comes Willie Roberts and it’s three for three. Touchdown run and the Warriors were up 14-7 with just under ten minutes to play in the second quarter. Theus says I’ll see your touchdown and raise you one. Check out the speed once again by Theus 74 yards and he’s gone… and we’re tied again after the extra point at 14. OK enough with the threes for now how about number 20 AJ Barnett of the Trojans showing you some speed to the outside and he scores from 26 yards out to make it 21-14 Euless Trinity. But on the ensuing kickoff its Number 13 of Martin Montreal Smith and he takes the kickoff and here he goes. Right back at us. WOW speed kills. He races all the way down deep inside Trojan territory 82 yards on that return and that would lead to another touchdown just before the break as Martin QB Zach Mundell connects with Ryan Wallace for a touchdown but the extra point was no good. The bands were barely off the field when the Trojans began with a bang in the third quarter as Trinity’s Colby Parton took the opening kickoff and takes the ball at his own 6 yard line and you guessed it he’s got speed too. To the outside and he will go the distance 94 yards touchdown. The flag was on Arlington Martin so following the extra point 28-20 Trinity on top. Martin would answer as quarterback Zach Mundell calls his own name and scored the touchdown to the outside and Martin was within a point at 28-27. We talked about how Brandon Theus dominated the first half highlights for Trinity earlier, well his teammate AJ Barnett had a big second half. Here he scores the touchdown run and Trinity was back up 35-27 with still over 8 minutes to play in the third quarter. AJ Barnett would add to the Trojan lead as he scored the short yardage TD run 42-27 Trinity with 2:29 to play in the third. We talked about three being the charm in the first half, well how about a third touchdown of the half and fourth of the game for Barnett . Trinity goes on to win 56-34 at Pennington Field.
