OtterBox Symmetry & PopSockets PopGrips: A Fun Upgrade to a Great Case for iPhone XR! HD

OtterBox Symmetry is unquestionably one of my very favorite iPhone case lines—slim, protective, and pleasantly grippy. How can you make that better? Add specially designed PopSockets PopGrips! For this version of the Symmetry, OtterBox got together with PopSockets to design matching and complementary PopGrips for some of its Symmetry cases. The pricing is basically the same as if you bought the Symmetry case and the PopGrips separately—you aren’t paying any extra, or getting any additional discount, for buying the Symmetry case and the PopSockets PopGrips as a set. For those of you that may not be familiar with PopSockets PopGrips, they are a collapsible adhesive stand and/grip for your iPhone that can be removed or repositioned at will. In collapsed mode, the PopGrip sticks out only slightly from the back of your iPhone (even less if the PopTop part has been removed), but when extended, it sticks out from the back of your phone for about one inch. It provides a secure and convenient grip for your phone as well as a handy media stand. The PopTops are easily swappable once the base has been attached to your phone, so it is easy to switch out your look. Pros: * Symmetry case is slim and drop protective and has a nice low to mid amount of grip. * Case has a good fit on the phone and has a nicely sized protective lip around the screen. * Port openings are nicely sized and buttons are extremely well done—very easy to press and responsive * The Love Triangle model of the Symmetry case that I was sent to review has a great design—clear polycarbonate shows off the back of your iPhone while an attractive design serves to distract the eye from the inevitable scratches and fingerprints that will eventually show up on the clear polycarbonate. * Camera opening is sufficiently protected by the case * Wireless charging is supported as long as the PopGrip is not situated in the middle of the case or the PopTop has been removed. * PopGrips are a welcome addition, giving enhanced grip to the case as well as a stand functionality. Plus, the swappable designs are really attractive and look great on the Symmetry cases. * PopGrips are easy to install and remove and the base is also quite easy to reposition. Cons: * Clear polycarbonate on the back of the case will show fingerprints and will scratch relatively easily. However, as noted above, this will not be as noticeable due to the pattern on the back of the case. * TPU on the case sides may yellow over time. * Case is a tight fit on the phone and a bit difficult to get on. * Case will no longer lie flat on its back with the PopGrips in place, or even with just the PopGrips base attached.
