Auma Ruth - Rich wuod Abandu & Opiyo Bwana Emma

Richard Oloo Lighaya, or simply Rich wuod Abandu ja Kakamega. The most famous Maragoli rhythm guitarist and one of the best lyricists even though hardly known by his fellow Maragoli men. Rich was born in Idhaho , Vihiga but spoke Luo and composed in Luo better than hundreds of other native Luo musicians, then and now. His success gave him free passes to all the bands he wished. Rich played top role in Collela Mazee’s “Victoria B Kings”, in Opiyo Emma & Brother Charlly’s “Gloria Kings” , in Opiyo Emma’s “Nyungu Oyie Soro”, Omore Kings, Okeyo Achayo & Opiyo Emma’s “Wan gi Kwe” , became one of the founders of Victoria Chomeka, split together with Orego Rego to form Les Chomeka before eventually returning to Victoria B Kings where he died in 2002. He lives on in musical history. Oh, I forgot to say that he also loved nyar Kano called Auma Ruth and he’s courting her here.
