A Week With the New AirPods 2: Review HD

05.04.2019
Apple loves making “air” things, macbook air, airport, ipad air, air jord- , and well, new airpods. But, you know the original were already pretty good, and after a week with these bad boys, what’s new? What’s different? And are they worth it? Let’s find out with a little review. It also pairs to your phone the same, sounds the same, the airpods themselves, still looks like toothbrush heads, feels exactly the same, and you still can’t change the volume using touch controls. Battery is the same, and even the unboxing experience is pretty much the same. The wireless charging one is $200 and the regular charging case version of the new airpods are the standard $160. So, what’s the difference? What makes these “new” other than the charging case? Well, you can use the new airpods for phone calls longer, which makes them a great choice for screaming over the phone arguing with your significant other, and now they have hey siri support. This means you can now ask her why you feel sad all the time, or why the new charging case version is so expensive, instead of wasting an extra two seconds double tapping an airpod to do that. That feature also clears up one of the airpods touch slots to be used by something else instead of siri, which is really nice because there were only two custom controls in the first place. The new airpods are also a bit faster at switching between all your devices. Before, it would take a couple of seconds to switch between my macbook pro and iphone xs max, and now its around 2 seconds. Which is a huge improvement and makes using the airpods a little quicker than before. Now, using them for over a week, I found that I used them practically the same way as the original airpods, they didn’t change enough for me to make a drastic difference on how I use them. I still use them when I’m going to class. I still use them when I’m lying in bed because it’s fast to pair, and I still use them as daily driver earbuds. The only differences with these is, I find myself using wireless charging where I just leave the case on the wireless charger, and airpods in my ears, and that makes it super easy to grab the case and just go instead of the regular ones where I have pull it out of a charging cable. Here’s something I wished they changed th
