The Four Seasons "Rag Doll" HD
After the arrival of the Beatles, The Four Seasons and The Beach Boys no longer dominated the radio waves in the U.S. In June 1964 The Four Seasons achieved a remarkable success, recapturing and dominating the number one spot with their recording, "Rag Doll." In New York City radio station WABC introduced the song on June 2 as a pick hit. By the next week "Rag Doll” was the number one song and remained so through the week of July 14 – an amazing achievement for an American group at the time. It also reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on July 18, , and remained on top for two weeks. "Rag Doll,” written by group member Bob Gaudio and the group’s producer Bob Crewe, was released on Philips Records and appeared on the Rag Doll LP released in 1964. The song can be found on CD on the Frankie Valli & Four Seasons Anthology on the Rhino label. I do not own the right to the song, audio, or images contained in this video. In my opinion "Rag Doll" was the group’s greatest recording.
