GTA V on Lubuntu 18.04 with Proton/Steam Play - DXVK overlay enabled + system monitor + Vsync HD
Enabling Vsync seems to really smooth things out. I put OBS on veryfast this time for a clearer image at the price of a slightly lower frame rate. You can see on the system monitor how much GTA 5, OBS and Proton are each using the CPU. Also, an interesting visual glitch occurs at about 8 minutes in. ==SYSTEM SPECS== CPU: AMD Ryzen R5 1600 GPU: 8GB Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ RAM: 16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz Motherboard: MSI B350 Tomahawk Steam installed on a 250GB Samsung 850 EVO (ext4 FS) GTA V installed on a 3TB Toshiba 7200RPM SATA III HDD (ext4 FS) Operating System: Lubuntu 18.04 Linux Kernel: 4.15.0-33-generic Mesa Version: 18.3.0-devel ==GRAPHICS SETTINGS== DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Screen Type: Windowed Resolution: 1920 x 1080 FXAA: Off MSAA: Off Vsync: On Population Density: 60% Population Variety: 60% Distance Scaling: 60% Texture Quality: Very High Shader Quality: Normal Shadow Quality: Very High Reflection Quality: High Reflection MSAA: Off Water Quality: High Particles Quality: Normal Grass Quality: Normal Soft Shadows: AMD CHS Post FX: Normal Motion Blur: Off Depth of Field: Off Anisotropic Filtering: x16 Ambient Occlusion: Normal Tessellation: Off Long Shadows: On High Resolution Shadows: On High Detail Streaming While Flying: On Extended Distance Scaling: 0% Extended Shadows Distance: 70% Frame Scaling Mode: Off Gameplay captured with OBS.
