Prep site, place towel roll under wrist, Betadine, Alcohol, circular motion starting in the center and work your way out, needle explaination, how to hold needle, bevel side up, 45 degree angle, actual stick, flash out blood, reposition, hold pressure at site for at least 5 minutes, Mixed heparin in syringe, remove air bubbles, check puncture site, place bandaid (without gause), discard needle properly, lable sample (name, date, pt temp, vent settings or O2 device name & FiO2 setting and Pt RR at time of stick).
