Panasonic Lumix Stills versus Video frame size loss HD

09.06.2011
The image zoom quoted by Panasonic for their digital cameras in the TZ and FZ series cameras is for still images only. A 24mm focal length (35mm equivalent) becomes nearer 30mm when the camera is in video mode. This is due to sensor design and crop factor for video. It does give the benefit that the longer focal length is also increased by about 5% so this could be a benefit to some people. This video shows the image size differencies between still and video.
