With three distinct cultures and upbringings, the trio has a truly unique and global perspective on music and culture, enabling a music creation and creative process that has in a short time allowed them to record with artists spanning the globe. Their debut album “Fresh Unity", due out in 2017, is a musical journey around the world, showcasing _ artists from _ different countries, including well known and up-and-coming acts alike including Olatunji (Trinidad), Skinny Fabulous, Mr. Killa (Grenada), Porgie and Murda (Barbados), Aisha (St. Lucia), Kye (Tobago), and others. Each member of BLAKGOLD’s unique personal experiences and tastes bring something special to the group’s works - The Wixard offers Dancehall and Afrobeat sensibilities, Cylenz brings the high energy of Soca and Electronic Dance Music, and J.Kestler comes through with Pop, R&B, Hip Hop elements. From Trini Carnival Soca tracks, to club bangers, heartfelt pop tracks, and experimental fusion, BLAKGOLD’s music is unlike any other. As a group, BLAKGOLD stands as an example of how individuals from different countries can work together, via readily available technology, on a common goal - to express positive energy through the creation of multi-media art, regardless of background, race, creed or upbringing. With collabs from artists with nine different countries (and counting!), the trio hopes to show that no matter where you are in the world, with a little love, understanding, and outside of the box thinking, one’s creativity can leave a lasting impact on culture everywhere. In their own words, BLAKGOLD states as a group, “We love using music, technology, and media arts as conduits to communicate with and experience the world. We use art to teach us about ourselves, keep the party going, and hopefully touch the hearts of others. We are blessed to be able to send a message of awareness and unity, whilst fostering self expression through creativity. Blending unlikely genres and cultures together in a unique way can spark cultural and social change.
