Bishop J Stephens

Bishop Jack Stephens -MACON - Bishop Jack Stephens was born on August 4,1944 to Deacon and Mrs. Raymond Stephens in Toomsboro, Georgia. Bishop attended the public schools of Wilkinson County in Irwinton, Georgia. After his graduation from high school he completed an apprenticeship as a weaver at J.P. Stevens Industries, where he carries the distinction of being the first African-American employed as a weaver for that company. -After four years of employment at J.P. Stevens, he obtained employment at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia.
