The speculation is over as the newest Batman v Superman trailer reveals some of its biggest secrets. While Disney has been attempting to keep details about this month’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens as secret as possible, Warner Brothers decided to take a different approach with its latest Batman v Superman trailer and confirm tons of details we had only speculated about the film’s plot. First up, it looks like Batman and Superman won’t be the only ones with a conflict. So will their alter-egos, Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent. The pair first meet at a party thrown by none other than Lex Luthor and have a heated debate with Kent calling Batman a vigilante stomping on individual’s civil liberties, while Wayne counters by accusing him of writing “puff pieces” about an alien that can literally destroy the world. Wayne than not so subtly compares Superman to The Joker saying Gotham has a bad history with “freaks dressed as clowns”. It’s a tense scene that perfectly sets up the conflict that we’ll see further play out, but then gives us the next big reveal – it’s actually funny. Despite reports that DC has a “no jokes” policy in their films as an attempt to separate itself from the Marvel movies, the trailer does showcase some humor in the form of Jesse Eisenberg’s “Lex Luthor” as well as Batman and Superman themselves. Next up, the actual “versus” part of the film’s title. We of course know that Batman and Superman will face off in the film and the trailer reveals that Batman will be breaking out all his gadgets in an attempt to take Superman down, including the new Batwing. We got a glimpse of it in action in the previous trailer, but now we get to see Batman at the controls and get a hint at what it’s capable of. We don’t see it having much effect on Superman, but at least it looks cool. It’s also revealed that Lex seems to have a hand in these two titans taking each other on, or at the very least he’s happy that it’s happening. The next reveal is one that brings up more questions than answers. We’ve seen plenty of shots of Batman clad in desert gear battling Nazi-like soldiers that appear to be loyal to Superman. Many have speculated that this will be some kind of nightmare Batman is having about what Superman is truly capable of. We see yet another shot from this scene in the new trailer, but now we get a look at a swarm of winged creatures grabbing people and carrying them off. While we don’t know for sure who or what they are, they are most likely “Parademons”. In the comics, Parademons are minions of Darkseid, a powerful, god-like alien who is rumored to be the main villain in the Justice League movie. Could this one shot have confirmed the rumor?
