1. Name- 62nd Annual World Championship OTL (2015) 2. Held on Fiesta Island in San Diego – 1590 E Mission Bay Dr, San Diego , CA 92109 Over The Line is a San Diego tradition for many people with up to 60,000 attendees over the two weekends of competition. See “Rules of the Game” link below to learn more about this bat and ball game played in the sand. There are up to1200 teams, each team has three players, who compete in brackets that are posted on large boards by the entrance. This is a well-organized non-commercial long standing event with a reputation for being explicit and at times socially “over the line” as well. Each team picks their own name and many of them are known for being raunchy as possible. (18+ is recommended) 3. When- July 11 and 12, 2015 (1st Weekend) & July 18 and 19, 2015 (2nd Weekend) 20,000 attending on 1st Saturday (busiest day) 4. Times- Games start at 7:30 am and go until dark 5. Hosted by- OMBAC (Old Mission Beach Athletic Club) - http://www.ombac.org/ 6. No charge to enter event. 7. Food and Drinks- They have places that sell food at a reasonable cost and non-alcoholic beverages. This is a BYOB (bring your own beer) event and many people bring coolers. (NO GLASS) 8. Security- There is no security check to get in. They post the rules and there are some volunteers monitoring the crowd and a large police force in case somebody decides to get outta line. Layout of event- There is a large rectangle inside the perimeter of the dunes on Fiesta Island. They layout 50 playing fields next to each other and the outside perimeter are “camps” for groups which they can put up shade structures and host parties. Directly around each playing field are groups of players and spectators in beach chairs and umbrellas with coolers. People walk around the pathway between the camps and the field. There is a huge party vibe and lots of beer in personal coolers everywhere. 13. Attendees –This is a large group of friendly casual “regulars”. There are always newcomers and spectators but these are mostly annual participants. The ages of players are from 18-80, mostly men and some women’s teams too. This is not very diverse, mostly white men from young bros, to working stiffs, to dirty old men. There are quite a few women too from young beach babes in bikinis to mature women enjoying the sport and spectacle. 14. Clothing – Casual beach attire with shorts and bathing suits too, some costume type outfits. The event is cracking down of some of the lewd past and nudity is prohibited.
