This is a song from a game that is near and dear to my heart. Golden Sun. The game is a Final Fantasy clone, but the story and the music make it. When going into this cover, I had 20 different ideas, and they all ended up sounding like shit. This one final arrangement came together, serendipitously, on the last 2 days I had to record. I started playing the bass to figure out a good bass line, and then everything just fell together. While trying, and failing, to do a killer solo overtop, I had the idea to just harmonize the actual lead part. GREATEST MOVE OF MY LIFE! This is by far my favorite sounding of my covers so far. It might be because I have my DigiTech RP500 back from my brother, but that’s just a hunch. This, also, was an uphill battle. Since I am more of an acoustic man myself, I rarely even touch my electric guitars. However, the fact that my Gretsch is older than the Fidel Telecastro (My telecaster’s name), and still had yet to be in one of my covers… other than in the background… maybe… I don’t know my own cover videos too well.
