BINONDO - INTRAMUROS BRIDGE The modern Binondo-Intramuros Bridge is one of the two China-gifted bridges under the "Build, Build, Build" program. With a total length of 680 meters over the Pasig river, the project involves the construction of a two-way, four-lane 70-meter long and 21.65-meter wide basket-handle tied steel arch bridge provides faster connectivity between two busy districts in Manila City including San Fernando Street in Binondo to Solana Street and Riverside Drive in Intramuros to Muelle dela Industria and Plaza del Conde Street in Binondo. The exit ramp to Plaza del Conde Street will open in mid-April, the DPWH said. According to the DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado, the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge can cater to around 30,000 motorists daily. It also has a sidewalk for pedestrians and joggers separated by safety railings and a marked lane for bikers to encourage the non-motorized mode of transport. It is seen as an alternative route to Jones Bridge.
