Lotion with Argan Oil 19.25 oz distilled water .5 oz glycerin 1.2 oz mango butter 1.7 oz oil (soy, sunflower or safflower) 1 oz argan oil 1.2 oz E wax 1 oz stearic acid 0.2 oz optiphen plus 1 oz fragrance oil or essential oil ( or to preference) 1 TBSP vitamin E Phase 1: In a 2 QT pyrex microwave safe bowl, put distilled water and glycerin. Microwave to 165 degrees and hold temp for 10 minutes. Phase 2: In a 2 QT pyrex microwave safe bowl, add oils, butter, Ewax, and stearic acid. Microwave to 165 degrees and hold temp for 10 minutes. Once Phase 1 and phase 2 have been held at 165 temp for 10 minutes, pour water into oils mixture. Blend these together for at least 2 minutes. Cool down phase: Once your mixture has reached 140 you can add FO or EO, vitamin E, and optiphen plus and blend for 30 seconds more. Makes 3-8oz bottles. *You can substitute stearic acid for cetyl alcohol 1 for 1. This will give more slip or slide. *Lotion is usually 70-80% water. Oils and butters 10-25%. Ewax 10%. Preservative is 1-2%. *If you add rosewater is must be added at 120 degrees or less. *BTMS 50 = emulsifier and great in lotions, shampoos and conditioners. *Stearic=fatty oil pellets= emulsifier. *You can sub oils 1 for 1 or butters 1 for 1.
